At circle time, we read Flower Garden. We also discussed the upcoming holiday. For our first small group activity, we conducted an experiment to change the color of our carnations. First, we talked about what part of the flowers soak up water and then we chose between water color paints and food coloring to fill small cups. After we added in the carnations, we tried to predict which color would cause the flowers to change first. In our second small group, we rolled dice, counted dots, and then "planted" that many flowers into a pot. As the final activity, we made name gardens! We identified and matched letters to spell our names, gluing them in order to our paper flower pots. It was a wonderful Wednesday!
