Today, at circle time, we read Froggy Goes Camping. We discussed common camping activities and then came together for a large group. We "roasted" marshmallows by pushing them on craft sticks and using them to paint campfire pictures. It was a wonderful Thursday back from break!

To end our week, we watched a few short videos of performances at a real circus! We saw lions and tigers jump over each other, trapeze artists flipping in the air, and elephants dancing! As our first small group activity, we played a circus themed BINGO. Next, in the second group, we practiced drawing shapes and several types of lines. In the last activity, we blew up balloons without using our mouths! We took turns pouring vinegar into a bottle, baking soda into a balloon, and then we watched as the reaction filled our balloon. It has been such a fun Friday!

After breakfast and our music time, we listened to Curious George Goes to the Circus at circle time. For our first small group activity, we practiced continuing patterns of circus related pictures. We got ready to enter the circus tent in our second group as we identified colors and letters on tickets and placed them in the can. Then, all together, we made cotton candy by using craft sticks to spread puffy paint on our pictures. We had a great Thursday!

Today, we had another visit from Mrs. Ashley. She talked with us about how bugs also enjoy fruits and vegetables, just like the pumpkins we are growing. We went outside and played a new game of tag, as we took turns being the bugs and the gardeners. After enjoying the morning on the playground, we counted juggling balls and practiced writing the number symbols in our first small group activity. For our second group, we made buttery popcorn by gluing cotton balls and using pipettes to drop yellow watercolor. Then, as the final activity, we tried to make elephant toothpaste. We mixed water, yeast, hydrogen peroxide, and dish soap to make a white, bubbly reaction for the animals of the circus.
