At circle time, our two Stars of the Week shared with us today! We got to know their favorite things and got to read from their favorite books. Continuing our Dr. Seuss theme, our first small group involved letter recognition. We took turns identifying letters on pebbles from the fish bowl and matching them to the letters on our paper. We explored the sensory bin that was filled with blue sands, as well as elements from several Dr. Seuss stories, including green eggs labeled with shapes and numbers, red and blue fish counting cards, truffula trees, and various red, blue, and yellow materials in our second group! For our last small group activity, we practiced number recognition, counting skills, and one to one correspondence by identifying numbered fish bowls, counting out gold fish crackers, and placing the corresponding number of fish in the bowls. It was a terrific Tuesday!
