Today, during circle time we read K is for Kwanza. While reading our book, we learned that the colors of the flag stand for different meanings to the people of Africa. The black area stands for unity, the green stands for the future, and the red stands for the struggles the people go through. After learning this, we used red, green, and black beads to create bracelets that symbolize the African Flag. For our second small group, we practiced working in unity and created jingle bell soup together. We used water, glitter, green food coloring, and jingle bells to create this holiday mixture. For our final and large group, we made Mkekas which are African place mats for meal time. We had a wonderful Wednesday.
