Happy Halloween everybody! We spent this spookingly cold morning trunk or treating, wearing our costumes, and getting lots of goodies. After the trunk or treat was over, we got to work on some super fun Halloween based activities. For our first activity, we used baking soda and vinegar to blow up monster balloons. For our second activity, we took turns rolling dice and whatever number we rolled was how many eyes we gave our monster. For our final activity, we practiced our cutting and wrapping skills. We took turns cutting yarn that we then used to wrap our people and turn them into mummies. We had a terrific Tuesday.

Today, during circle time, we read Perfect Pumpkins. For our first small group activity, we used tweezers to grab beans, and then placed the beans to trace letters written on pumpkins. For our second small group, we completed Jack 'o' lantern faces by matching the shapes to the shapes drawn for the mouths. For our final small group activity, we explored Halloween sensory bags and discussed what was in the bags. We had a marvelous Monday.

Today, during circle time, we watched a fun fact video about England. For our first small group, we took turns putting the Queen's guards in front of the castle, and we put the same amount as the number we identified. For our second small group, we made buses that you see in England, and we  spelled our names by putting the windows on the buses. For our final and large group, we used tea bags to paint a picture. We also shared our Star of the Week's board! We had a great day.

Today, during circle time, we read Little Owl's Night. For our first small group, we completed puzzles that were pictures of all sorts of nocturnal animals. For our second small group, we explored the sensory bin which was filled with items that made it seem like night time and had bats flying around in it. For our final and large group, we created bat hats! We are letting them dry still, so pictures are to follow. We had a wonderful Wednesday.

Today, during circle time, we read While You Were Sleeping. For our first small group, we played Marco Polo to practice using echo location like bats to navigate! For our second small group, we used chain links to measure different nocturnal animals. For our final and large group, we used a paper plate, a string, and two fake spiders to create a spider web. We had a terrific Tuesday.
