Today, during circle time, we read America the Beautiful. We even got to listen to the song in the quiet room! For our first small group, we sorted stars and stripes by their size and discussed what made them different. For our second small group, we sorted stars by their color. For our large group, we made sensory flags! We used red textured paper and covered it in white shaving cream, silver stars, and blue gems! We had a fantastic Friday.

Wednesday, July 12- Water Day at 9-11 a.m.

Today, we mixed things up a little bit! We finished yesterday's activity of the salt fireworks by painting them with water color paint. Mrs. Ashley came to visit us and check out our garden. We talked about seeds and even got to investigate a pack of seeds. Then, we glued together a puzzle of a garden with spinach. After puzzles, we did spinning spinach exercises in the motor room. We also watered our pepper plants and noticed that they were close to blooming! We had a terrific day.

Monday, July 3 to Friday, July 7 - CLC CLOSED for Summer Break 

Today, during circle time, we read Fourth of July Fireworks. During our first small group, we used glue and salt to make fireworks, and after they dry over night, we will paint them tomorrow! For our second small group, we sorted coins by color into groups of red, white, and blue. Next, we used the coins to continue and create patterns. During our final and large group activity, we marched down the sidewalk and identified letters on flags. After marching, we chose letters out of a bag and matched them to the corresponding flags. We also got to learn about our Star of the Week today after lunch, and even listened to his favorite book! We had an awesome day.

Monday, July 3 to Friday, July 7 - CLC CLOSED for Summer Break

Today, we put a twist on our water day! We had multiple tubs with different types of water play. One tub consisted of arctic animals, water, and ice. Another tub included water, boats, and sea creatures. We also had a water game of ball toss where the rings were in the water and you tossed the ball to see if it landed in a ring. We even got to fill up a scale with water on one side and water animals on the other to see which weighed more. Soaking up sponges and squeezing them into pails, as well as popping bubbles, were other activities we enjoyed today! We had a super fun morning.
