To celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday, we read special mini-books at circle time. We followed along with our own booklets and talked about a few facts. Then, we sang him "Happy Birthday" and discussed our favorite Dr. Seuss books, movies, and games. For our first small group activity, we took our shoes off and hopped to pop bubble wrap, while saying our pattern of red and blue. We explored the Seussical sensory bin, and some of us even made birthday cakes as our second small group. As our last small group activity, we traced our feet on paper and then used Legos to measure how long they were. We had a spectacular day!
