Today, during circle time, we read Weather. For activity time, we took a poll about which weather we liked most. We looked at jars that were filled with different types of weather scenes. For example, the sunny jar had a giant yellow pom-pom ball in it, and the snowy jar had little white pom pom balls in it. We had a fantastic Friday.

Today, during circle time, we read Weather. For our first small group, we used straws to create wind and blew cotton balls across the table like clouds. For our second small group, we created a whirl pool like you see with a hurricane. We used a spoon to stir the water, and after it started to go in a circular motion, we added blue water color paint to watch it swirl. For our large group activity, we practiced our cutting skills by cutting out a line that matched the shape of what you'd see in a hurricane. We had an awesome day.

Monday, April 10th - Friday, April 14th - CLC CLOSED for Spring Break

Today, during circle time we read Wind. For our first small group, we played musical tornado numbers! We danced to music around pictures of tornadoes with numbers drawn on them, and when the music stopped we identified the number in front of us. For our second small group, we traced outlines of tornadoes with colored pencils. For our final small group, we made tornadoes in a jar! We mixed water, soap, and glitter together and then mixed twirled the bottle around. We had an amazing day.

During circle time today, we read Clouds. During our first small group, we discussed what type of clothing was appropriate for all types of weather. For our second small group, we made the sun by matching sun rays with shapes on them to shapes drawn on a plate. Lastly, when we all came together for our large group we drew our interpretation of a thunderstorm. We had an awesome day!

To start out this week, we are learning about our new theme of weather. At circle time, we read Weather. For our first small group, we rolled special dice to see if we would walk, hop, run, skip, or gallop to different types of weather, including sun, rain, or snow by identifying the pictures. We got to make suns and count sun rays for our second small group activity. Then, as our last small group, we conducted an experiment to demonstrate the effects of cold and warm temperature on the air. We had a marvelous Monday!

Monday, April 10th - Friday, April 14th - CLC CLOSED for Spring Break

Today, we mixed things up a little bit! Instead of having circle time, we got to have free play time. The reason we did this, was because we had a special visitor named Ms. Mary come to see us. She brought pictures for us to paint, and she painted along with us. We also got to play outside in this beautiful weather, and we took advantage of the sun in hopes of no rain! We had a fantastic Friday.

For today's circle time, we read Troubled Tooth. For our first small group, we put our finger prints on a picture of hands. We dipped our fingers into ink, and pressed them to the matching finger on the hand. During our second small group, we rolled dice to retrieve a number. After doing so, we put that many marshmallows in a picture of a mouth, and pretended they were teeth. Finally, our large group consisted of coloring pictures of brains, and then putting them on paper headbands to wear! We had an amazing day.

To continue our theme of personal hygiene, we watched a video about how to keep our bodies healthy at circle time. For our first small group, we filled in a body outline with different shaped blocks as we identified which shapes we used. We placed Play Doh in between Legos and then used yarn to floss for our second small group activity. As a large group, we used toothbrushes to paint unique pictures. Today was a wonderful Wednesday!
