This week is all about Friends and Feelings! Today, we read I am Happy! For math, we practiced one to one correspondence by identifying numbers and putting a pom pom ball per dot on the plate. For science, we made emotions slime! We made red to represent anger, blue to represent sadness, yellow to represent joy, green to represent scared, and purple to represent bravery. We talked about things that make us feel certain emotions and that we can have more than one emotion. Later, we stamped different emotion faces! We had a great day!

Today, we read To Be a Kid! Next, we did an activity where we measured ourselves, identified the number of inches, and then we cut a piece of yarn that was the same length. We hung up our yarn and put our picture with it to see all our our different heights. We also explored our sensory texture tree, played with the busy blocks, clipped clothespins on a line, and explored gears.

Today, we read Hands Can! We explored our color touch board that changes colors with the temperature of your hands! We discovered that warm hands turned green and blue, but cold hands turned black! We looked at our hair colors and made a graph of our different hair colors. We also glued tissue paper squares to the first letter of our names! We had a fun day!
We used ice to make our hands cold! |
And then we had to warm them back up! |
Miss Krissy and E had cold hands, so they had to rub them together to warm them up! |

Today, we read The Shades of Us! In one small group, we used magnetic letters to spell our names and count how many letters are in our names. In our other small group, we traced our hands, used ink pads to put our fingerprints on the papers, and then examined our different prints with magnifying glasses. For our large group, we used name tracing cards to trace our first and last names!

I had to blur out their names, but can you see how proud he was that he wrote his name! |
