Today we read Dancing With Degas, and did the "Hokey Pokey". We  explored popcorn and popcorn kernels in sensory bottles. We did our Discovery Dice activity where the children roll a colored dice and find a card with the same color. Each card has a different action to carry out, some are simple and some are more complex. This activity exercises color recognition, listening, responding and following one step directions. We exercised our fine motor muscles by squeezing glue bottle and sticking stripes of paper to make lion faces. We also explored the circus sensory table. 

It was such a fun week learning about the circus!

Today we continued our lessons with more circus fun! We listen and danced to "All Aboard The Choo Choo Train"and read The Little Engine That Could. We explored the smells of the circus with circus smelly cups; cotton candy, peanuts, carmel candied apples, grass, and popcorn. We laced train beads and sorted shapes.We also explored pictures of the circus on the photo slider board. 

We had a wonderful day!

 

Today in the toddler room we read Fun At The County Fair and danced to all "I'm A Little Clown". Using our problem solving skills we matched lids to containers and practiced open and closing each one. We built with sensory bead blocks. It was neat to shake and listen too them! We also tossed bean bags into the hoop with the same color. We had a great day!

This week we are learning about the Circus!  We sang "Funny Clown, Funny Clown" and read Disney Babies Go To The Circus. We painted "cotton candy" with shaving cream, water colors, and glue. We did a musical circus walk to circus music and when the music stopped we named the animal we landed on and made the animal's sound. We also swung on the trapeze swing.

Today we read We Are Going On A Bear Hunt and then we went on a nature walk! It was nice to go out  and explore the outdoor life around us. We discoverd a bird in the tree, a lady bug, butterfly, a big green beetle and pretty flowers; however we did not find any bears like in the story! We went on a animal track hunt around our classroom. We also used sticks to paint a beautiful picture! We had such a wonderful day!

Today, we sang "The Isty Bitsy Spider" and then played a fun game of catch. We read Colors and went fishing in our sensory table catching magnetic fish and talked about the color of the fish we caught. We also experienced luxury camping in an RV! Thanks to our special visitors from Quality RV for letting us tour the RV and for our camping goodies!

 

It was great day in the toddler room! We read Curious George Goes Fishing, and did the "Campfire Hokey". We laced animals using our problem solving and fine motor skills. We painted with marshmallows on a stick and talked about what happened when the red and yellow paint mixed together. We also stamped with alphabet letters.We also explored the sensory table with outdoor elements including sticks, rocks and smalls logs. Lots of learning fun!
