Blowing In the Wind

During this week we explored things that blow in the wind such as hot air balloons, kites, windmills, and windsocks. We made windsocks, handprint windmills, and painted hot air balloon paper plates. We flew streamers like kites, jumped off blocks like we were flying, built block towers and blew them over like we were the wind,  made hot air balloons and flew them from our playground, did a "Things that Fly" puzzle, pretended to be in a hot air balloon in our platform swing, spun in circles like windmills and blew our pinwheels on the playground. We also sang songs and read Weather, YoYo's Toys, Over, Under, Around and Through. and The Wind Blew.

Caterpillars and Butterflies

This week we explored caterpillars and butterflies. We wiggled and crawled like caterpillars through our caterpillar tunnel, we made egg carton caterpillars, played "catch me if you can", laced wooden beads together to look life caterpillars, explored through our caterpillar and butterfly sensory bins, danced with scarves like we were butterflies, layed on our tummies in the swing and "flew" like butterflies, played with our squishy butterfly sensory bags, and mad ecoffee filter butterflies. We sang songs about caterpillars and butterflies and read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Butterfly Oasis.
