Today we read, "How Does a Dinosaur say I'm Mad" We sang and danced to toddler radio. We sorted shapes in shape bins. Sorting is a great way to prepare your child for letter recognition being able to  see how objects are the same and different. We also did a dinosaur matching activity. Ms Coli from the Camden County Library came to visit our class today, she read us two books and shared fun coloring sheets with us. It is very exciting for us to have guest readers in the classroom! We had a great day!

Today we sang and danced to Toddler Radio, "If You're Happy and You Know It" and "All Aboard the Choo Choo Train" were big hits! We read How Do Dinosaurs Learn to Read? and talked about how to care for our classroom books. We painted with our "dinosaur feet" which was large bubble wrap rubber-banded around the kids feet. They enjoy trying new ways of painting. We also played with dinosaurs and play dough, dug for dino bones, and explored more circles in the classroom.

In the toddler room we looked at pictures of dinosaur bones and archeologists digging for dinosaurs bones and then we discussed the bones and digging. One of our friends thought that this was quite similar to a dog and said,"like a dog"! Then we went on a dinosaur expedition just like the archeologist using brushes to clean the bones and magnifying glasses to take a closer look.  We found lots of dinosaur bones in our sensory table! We also discovered dinosaur eggs around our room! We searched and found tons of them! Then we sat down and counted and explored these amazing finds! We also used our fine motor skills to put cheerios and wooden beads onto spaghetti noodles! We had a wonderful day exploring, discovering and learning!

Signing "Circle" and looking at the circle items our little friend brought in to share.

Today we read, "Stomp" while stomping, jumping and roaring like dinosaurs, some of our friends were very convincing dinos! We sang "Five Little Dinosaurs" counting and dancing. We also made our very own volcano. We thought it was amazing how after adding all the ingredients it bubbled and erupted! Everyone loved the volcano so much that we made our volcano erupt three times, then our friends wanted to add dinosaurs in to! We really had fun with the experiment!  We also did a color matching activity with pom poms. We had a great day!

Today we welcomed a new friend to our classroom! All of our toddlers were very excited to make a new friend and were very willing to help show him around the room. This week we are learning about dinosaurs. We sang about dinosaurs roaring and stomping our feet. We read "The Dinosaur Who Lived in My Backyard."  We added coffee ground to our play dough, giving it a rough texture. We made dinosaur tracks, by pressing dino feet in the play dough and then we discovered that putting the dinosaurs feet into paint then make dinosaur walk on paper makes a really neat foot print trail. We also played ball with friends in the motor room. It was a great day!            .

Today we explored rocks and dirt and trucks and Tractors in the sensory tub. We loved pushing the tractors through the dirt and fulling up our dump trucks with rock.  We did a construction matching activity discovering different construction related objects. We read Alphabet Under Construction and sang "Five Big Dump Trucks". We also practiced our fine motor and problem solving skills with our pipe cleaner activity. We had a wonderful day! Please bring a circle item next week to share with our friends! This will be a fun show and tell for your child to learn about the shape of the week.
