Today, during circle time, we read I Like Myself. We started our first small group activity by pushing our fingers onto colored ink pads and putting our fingerprints on a drawing of a hand. We discussed that our fingerprints are special because they are all different! For our second activity, we put paper over our names written in dried hot glue, and colored them to make name rubbings. For our final small group, we worked on puzzles by piecing together our faces and those of our friends. We had a great day!

Monday, September 4th - CLOSED for Labor Day

Today, during circle time, we read When I Was Little.  For our first small group, we matched pictures of body parts to a body drawn on paper. For example, we matched a picture of a shoulder to the shoulder on the body! For our second small group, we filled in a chart by writing our names under the boy side or the girl side, and then we compared to see which had more. For our large group, we used paper plates, yarn, and print outs to make happy or mad faces. We had a wonderful Wednesday.

Monday, September 4 - CLOSED for Labor Day

Today, during circle time, we read I Can Do it Myself. For our first small group, we looked in to mirrors and talked about the different things we saw, like our eyes, nose, mouth, and different features. After talking about it, we took expo markers and tried to draw what we saw on our mirrors! For our second small group, we put puzzles together that spelled our names. After both activities, we took advantage of the nice weather and chose to play outside until lunch. It was a terrific Tuesday.

Today, during circle time, we read I Love You More than the World. For our first small group, we made caterpillars by gluing circles on paper that spelled out our names. For our second small group, we filled in a chart by writing our name under what hair color we have, and then counting to see which had the most and the least. For our final small group, we searched through glitter and pom-poms in the sensory bin and found pictures of our classmates! We had a marvelous Monday.

Monday, September 4 - CLOSED for Labor Day 

As an ending to our first week back at school, we read Pete the Cat: The Wheels on the Bus at circle time. We had a blast singing along with the story! For one activity, we practiced our gluing skills by filling small circles with dots of glue. We explored the sensory table, for our second small group, and looked for specific school supplies. After reaching a collective classroom goal, we chose to watch part of a favorite movie for our last group activity. It was an amazing Friday!
