Today, during activity time, we had a special visitor. Mrs. Mary came and helped us paint beautiful pictures of flowers. These pictures were inspired by the saying, " April showers bring May flowers." We had a fantastic Friday!

Today, during circle time, we read the book Birds. During our first small group activity, we wrote the letter E in birdseed. For our second small group, we scooped birdseed into cups. Each cup had a different number on it, and we scooped birdseed that number of times into the corresponding cup. For our large group activity, we used birdseed to trace our names. We had a terrific day.

Today, during circle time, we read When The Rain Comes Down. During our first small group, we used play-dough to create pictures of the world and of trees. For our second small group, we looked at the numbers on our bird nests, and then we put that many marbles inside of them. In our final small group, we got to play with dirt and worms! We used magnifying glasses to observe the worms and all their details. We had a wonderful Wednesday.

During circle time today, we read What Lives in a Tree. For activities, we got to be outside in the beautiful weather. Our first small group, we made bird feeders by lacing cheerios on pipe cleaners. For our second small group, we made a nature wall by sticking things you find outside onto contact paper. For our final small group, we did tree rubbings! We put paper against a tree and then used crayons to color pictures. We had a fantastic day.

Today, right after circle time, we had a fire drill! Before the drill, we read the book Under The Apple Tree. For our first small group, we explored a garden in the sensory bin. We used garden rakes and planted flowers in little flower pots. For our second small group, we stuffed trees with cotton balls. For our large group, we did a science experiment with bean planting! We had an awesome day.

Today, during circle time, we read When the Fly Flew In. For our first small group activity, we counted flies and were given two or three numbers to choose from to match with the amount of flies. For our second small group activity, we got to use fly swatters! We chose a letter and we searched on the paper for the fly with the corresponding letter. Then, when we found the matching letter, we swatted that fly! For our large group activity, we made bug imprints by pressing rubber bugs into play-dough. We had a flying good Friday.
