Today, we read Grandpa's Garden. Next, we split into groups for our activities. In one activity, we squished peas with our feet! Some of us just like popping the peas with our fingers. The peas felt cold, squishy and wet. In our other activity, we matched our pretend food to pictures of real food. Later, we attached pipe cleaners to a colander to make structures and weaved them onto cooling racks. We also played on the playground, pretended to be different animals, laced noodles onto rope, and pretended to be gardeners! We had a great day!

Today we read You Are My Sunshine. Then friends matched and put together wooden velcro foods and named the foods. Later we played with dirt-playdough and smashed all of the dirt into two pots. Then, we arranged flowers in our pots. We tried many different flower arrangements out! On the playground we had lots of gross motor fun with bikes! We also got a new friend today!

Today we read The Carrot Seed. Friends sorted fruits and veggies by color and shape. They also made groups of fruits and vegetables! We had fun exploring corn meal-play dough and seeds. We made holes in the dough and "planted" the seeds inside! Lacing giant noodles made for a fun fine motor activity!

Gardening!

This week we are learning about growing gardens! We read In The Garden, then we explored different seeds and beans in sensory bags. We decided to open the bags and sort the seeds inside. We painted with vegetables, then we washed the veggies with soap, water and sponges. We did puzzles, pretended to pick carrots out of the garden and poked/popped peas! We had a fun day!

Today, we read Five Little Chicks and Little White Duck! Next, we explored colors and exercised our fine motor skills by picking up feathers and putting them into the slit with the same color. Then, we built with our wooden tree blocks. Later, we drew with chalk on black paper and then painted it with water to see how it changed. We also celebrated a birthday today! What a great day!

Talking about who has feathers!

"I made an ice cream cone!"

"I'm three!"
