Today, we read Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? and then we matched pictures of real animals to clip art pictures. We matched pictures one friend at a time and each friend told the group the animal they had and the color of it. It was fun activity to exercise our cognitive skills and our language skills. We all did a great job of taking turns. Next, we each had a card with a color and had to find an object in the room that was the same color. This was a fun way to explore objects and it was interesting to see if the children remembered where certain objects were rather than just coming across an item of the color they needed. We also sorted pom pom balls into egg cartons to experience one-to-one correspondence. We had a great day!

This week is Bear's week! Weather Bear came back for "Weather Watchers" and then we read We're Going on Bear Hunt! We had our own bear hunt looking through the sensory table for the bears. We used paint dotters to make our our colorful bears and explored the peg boards. We also played on the playground in the "bear cave!"

We had such a great Friday! We read Hurry Inchworm. We played on the playground, climbing  the mountain and driving cars. We sorted pom poms by color and size. We colored on aluminum foil with markers. We really liked the sound the aluminum foil made when we colored it and when we crinkled it. Have a good weekend!

Today, we read A is for Apple. As we went through identifying each letter we all said the word that went along with the letter and we pointed out the first letter of everyone's name. It was very fun! We colored coffee filters red and then sprayed them with water bottles to make the color spread. Next, we made patterns with our apple pictures. We also opened and closed ziplock baggies to exercise our fine motor precision. We also welcomed our new friend, J! It was a busy and exciting day!

Today, we read Barnyard Dance and then painted with apples. Next, we stuck apples to our apple tree and counted them. We used our fine motor skills to stick apple stickers to our paper and draw with crayons. We also played on the playground and water painted on the building.

Today, we read Colors and labeled the color of the items on each page and on our own shirts. We made contact paper apples and talked about the colors we used. We also sorted apples by size and color. One little friend even made a pattern! She was so proud!
