Today, we read Toddler Two and counted along with the book our two hands, two eyes, two ears, and two arms. Next, we connected our round links. First, we started individually and then, we worked together to make one long rope of link. We also explored our busy box, played in the motor room and had a fire drill! Have a great Labor Day weekend and we will see everyone on Tuesday!

Today, we sang "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and pointed out our body parts. We finally got some time on the playground before it got too hot outside. When we came back in from the playground we discovered that someone (Ms. Daria) had colored all over our tables with crayons! So, we grabbed our spray bottles and paper towels and got to work. This activity provided us with fine motor exercise by squeezing the spray bottles and tactile play by wiping the tables. Next, we played dress-up with some new dress-up wear! We also decorated picture frames, but I can't tell you what for. It's a surprise!

Today, we took a little trip to England for cultural day! We read Old King Cole, sang "London Bridges", played with king and queen puppets, and built a castle with blocks! We also squished and squeezed play dough and then made our hand prints in the play dough, just like several celebrities have done for James Preston's book, Celebrity Handprints. Preston donated all profits of the book to two UK children charities. WOW! For lunch we enjoyed "bangers and mash" and scones for snack!
What a fun day!

Today, we read You Are Special and talked about how we are all special because we have friends and family who love us and that we are all different.  Then, we sat in front of the mirror and looked at how we are different or similar. We looked at our hair color and eye color and found friends that had the same features. We sponge-painted and finger-painted and put hair onto sticky paper faces to exercise our fine motor skills. We also played in the motor room!

Today, started out by singing "Shake Your Sillies Out" and then we read Germs Are Not For Sharing and talked about washing our hands, catching our coughs and sneezes, using tissues, and not eating food off of the floor. We also read, by request from B, Where is Baby's Belly Button? We explored rice bags feeling the texture of the rice. It was also fun to find the bright buttons hidden in the rice. We also measured ourselves to see how many blocks tall we were. We also drew faces with crayons. We also played in the motor room!

Today we made a collage by tearing paper and sticking it to the easel. We played on the playground before it got too hot. At circle time, we read It's Hard to Wait and then we did an activity where we pretended to be having a meal and practiced waiting our turn for certain food items. We explored feely gel bags. We also used our fine motor skills to put rubber-bands around paper towel tubes.
Have a great weekend!

Today we danced and used our instruments to make music. At circle time, we talked about how it was hot and sunny and dressed "Weather Cat" and then we read Biscuit Loves School. We did an activity with our Discovery Dice where we rolled the dice, picked a card with the same color the dice landed on and then did the activity on the card. Next, we colored on bubble wrap and then just had fun popping the bubbles. We had a fun day!

Today we sang and danced and then had quiet book time. Then we read My Little People School Bus and talked about different times of our day at school, like playground time, nap time and waiting to be picked up. We did a sequencing activity where we looked at pictures of things we do in our daily routine and put the pictures in order of how they happen. We explored feely bags and sorted pom pom balls and craft sticks. We played in the motor room and on the playground. We also practiced using scoops and tongs with beads.
