This week we are learning about bugs and insects. We explored the sensory table with caterpillars and butterflies (noodles) using tongs to pick up the "bugs." We also painted with fly swatters. The toddlers loved swatting paint onto the paper! We sang the finger-play "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and then we read The Itsy Bitsy Spider, but this version was about a prepared spider with an umbrella! Ask your kiddos and see if they remember. We had a great day!

Today we sang, "The More We Get Together" and read Boogie Monster dancing and moving along with the book. We painted with balloons; some of us wanted to paint our balloon too. We found out that glitter paint could pop the balloon! We made patterns with pictures of Earth and a starry sky and explored the floating star and planets sensory bottle that we made with oil, water, star confetti, Alka-Seltzer and food coloring. It was a great day to wrap up our outer space week! Next week we will be talking about bugs and insects!

Making music
We had a awesome day in the toddler room! We sang "The Planets" while shaking our wooden bells and dancing! We read On The Moon and then we went a moon rock hunt around our classroom just like the astronauts in the book! We also decorated the mirrors in our classroom with window crayons and then finally got some time on the playground.

Today, we read Aliens in Underpants Save The World, the children thought this was a very funny book! We rolled marbles on black paper with metallic and glitter paint; our paintings looked like outer space. We pretended we were astronauts blasting off to the moon! We also put balls on a parachute and tossed them up like they were planets floating in space. We explored the sensory table with moon sand and moon rocks. We are having so much fun learning about outer space!

Guess who?
