Today we sang and danced to Christmas tunes and read Merry Christmas to You! We made beaded pipe cleaner wreaths, built with our lego blocks and worked on problem solving with puzzles. We also celebrated a birthday today with a special snack! Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year! We will see all of you back at school on January 3, 2014!

Guess what we smelled today? The scents of the Christmas season! We set in a circle taking turns passing around bags with  peppermints,  pine branch, cinnamon and snow/ice! The toddlers loved exploring with their noises smelling then telling each other what they thought of  each bag! The peppermint smell was the least popular smell, however everyone enjoyed the smell of the pine. We decorated paper plates with bows and glitter glue making our very own wreaths. We revisited our peppermint play dough we made earlier in the week. We read Hello Santa! and sang "10 Little Elves". It was a fantastic day in the toddler room.

We had so much fun using glitter glue and buttons to make stocking ornaments!  The toddlers loved exploring and discovering all the different sizes, shapes, and colors of the buttons. We read Touch and Feel Christmas and made music with rhythm sticks. We also worked on taking apart and putting together our mega blocks. We also learned what happens when blue and yellow paint is mixed together! Then we used our new green paint to paint with paper towel tubes. It was a great day!

In toddler room today we made a red collage, read Chanukkah Lights and sang "Spin, Spin the Dreidal" while spinning and dancing. We decorated Gingerbread ornaments, and we sorted pom poms by color as we counted. We also played catch with our friends on the playground. It was great in the toddler room!

Today we read My Santa Claus and sang "Jingle Bells" as we shook bells to our very own tune. Then we went on a red hunt around the classroom, discovering many red items! We made red peppermint scented play dough then we rolled it, cut it, smelled it and smashed it. We also rode around the motor room on scooters. The weather was beautiful today, so we did an outside recess for the first time in quite awhile!  We had a fun day!

Today was a wonderful day in the toddler room. We read Hello Snowman and danced to toddler tunes. We painted with Christmas colored ice cubes, and made a white tissue paper collage. We sorted, matched, and counted snow flakes. Ms Collie from the Camden County Library visited our class! The toddlers always enjoy hearing her stories!

We would like to give a big thank you to the special someone who donated mega blocks and wooden alphabet blocks to our classroom. Our toddlers were so excited to see the new items coming into the classroom! We started our day with reading Biscuit's Snowy Day, we made music with rhythm sticks beating to a steady beat. We also explored melted snowmen sensory bags. After that we counted snowball pom-poms and then we sorted them by size.  It was a magnificent day!

We had a wonderful time decorating our felt Christmas tree! We read Winter Friends, a story about a snowman that has visitors from all the animals in the forest! Then we made tracks and prints in the snow with different objects in our room. This was such a fun way to explore and learn! Following this activity we used circle sponges to paint snowflakes. Our color of the week is white, we incorporated white in with our snow and snow flakes!
